A/Prof Melinda Newnham has been a clinical periodontist and lecturer in periodontics for the past 20 years. She practises in both private practice and at the Alfred hospital, enabling her to explore interests in the rehabilitation of medically compromised patients, aesthetics and the management of peri-implantitis. A/Prof Newnham is the academic lead for periodontics at La Trobe University, Bendigo, and lectures locally and nationally on periodontics and dental implants.  

A/Prof Newnham was awarded Fellowship with the RACDS in 2004 and gained Fellowship in Specialist Dental Practice in Periodontics in 2007.
