Dr Lisa Bowdin

Dr Lisa Bowdin is a specialist paediatric dentist. She currently holds appointments as Senior Lecturer in Paediatric Dentistry at The University of Western Australia, and Dental Registrar at the Perth Children’s Hospital, and has previously worked in private practice in Perth, Western Australia. 

Dr Bowdin completed her specialist training in paediatric dentistry at the University of Western Australia. During this time, she completed her thesis titled “Preliminary evaluation of Biodentine™ as a restorative material: in vitro”. As part of this program, Dr Bowdin acted as a paediatric dental registrar at The Oral Health Centre of Western Australia and at Princess Margaret Hospital.  She was awarded the UWA Alex & Norma Matheson DCD Travel Scholarship to present her research at the 26th IAPD Congress in Santiago, Chile. She was also the winner of the Australasian Academy of Paediatric Dentistry Colgate Recent Graduate Competition after presenting her essay on the potential applications of Hall Crowns in school dental programs.

Dr Bowdin has served for many years on the WA committee of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry and is currently the WA Federal Councillor. In addition to ANZSPD, she is a Committee Member of the International Academy of Paediatric Dentistry Finance Committee. She has previously held executive roles in the Dental Specialist Society of WA. Dr Bowdin is also a member of the International Association of Dental Research, Australasian Academy of Paediatric Dentistry and The International Academy of Dental Traumatology.
